Anyone who reads my blog knows that I rarely do surveys, but my brain is fried (too much training, not enough sleep!) so I thought I would do something fun on a Friday afternoon. The lovely Bek tagged me almost a month ago so I figured there was no better time to finally respond.
A. Attached or Single? Attached to my lovely husband.
B. Best Friend? Lives far away from me in Perth. She came to visit last summer but I’m trying to convince her to move here!
C. Cake or pie? Neither. I only like frosting and pie isn’t really a big thing in Australia. I’d much rather have ice cream or plain ol’ chocolate!
D. Day of choice? Sunday. It’s the one day a week where I don’t work and I try to unplug as much as possible. I also lift on Sundays and go out for breakfast – food and lifting are my two favourite things, so can it get any better than that?!
E. Essential Item? I’m going to have to be cliche and say my phone. When I don’t have it on me, I feel naked. Between managing a gym, running an online business and feeding my Facebook/Instagram addiction, I get a lot of texts, emails and messages all day long. When I’m away on holiday I usually don’t pay for roaming purposely so I can have a few days break. A close second essential item is chapstick. Some people say I have an addiction…
F. Favorite color? I don’t know if I really have one? I used to be pink obsessed, but now it’s probably blue or red.
G. Gummy bears or worms? Yuck. I hate candy.
H. Home town? Perth, Australia. Best beaches in the world, but not much else going for it!
I. Favorite Indulgence? Now you’re talking! When I have dessert I like to go all out. That usually involves fudge brownies topped with rich, creamy ice cream! I absolutely love gelato in the summer.
J. January or July? I like how everyone from the northern hemisphere doesn’t understand this question! Up until last year, I would have said January. January is hot, hot, hot in Australia and very laid back as people recover from New Year’s parties and Australia Day. It was always my favourite month as it was right before my birthday too! Now I guess I have to give the European response and say July. Now that I’ve experienced my first proper winter, I can understand why people appreciate the summer so much!
K. Kids? I don’t really know if I want them anymore. Still up for discussion!
L. Life isn’t complete without? Pursuing your dreams.
M. Marriage date? May 22, 2010.
N. Number of brothers/sisters? I have a half-brother who’s only three years old, and a half-sister I’ve never met.
O. Oranges or Apples? Apples. I typically can’t stand oranges because the smell gets stuck underneath my fingernails!
P. Phobias? I have to agree with Bek and say vomit. If I hear or see someone vomit, I’m gone. I don’t know if this is necessarily a phobia, but 5-6 times a day I think about bursting a blood vessel or tearing the retina in my eye. Fun times.
Q. Quotes? I’m all over quotes at the moment, as I’m trying to pick my tattoo!
R. Reasons to smile? I’m going on holiday in a week! 8 days in Montenegro, two days back in London, and then 5 nights in Ibiza. I’m so excited to just unplug and unwind by the sea 🙂
Oh and as cheesy as it sounds, training is giving me plenty of reasons to smile lately. Last night I did an epic three hour session and was physically and mentally exhausted, yet could not wipe the grin off my face. I couldn’t fall asleep until after midnight because I was do damn excited, and then I literally dreamed of log pressing!
S. Season of choice? Summer. I live for days of 40+ degrees C.
T. Tag 5 People. I think I’m the last blogger alive to do this survey…
U. Unknown fact about me? I think I gave away all my ‘unknown facts’ in this post.
V. Vegetable? Is bacon a vegetable? No? Then squash! Loooove it. Especially if cooked with bacon.
W. Worst habit? I bite my nails when I’m nervous. When I have polish on, I don’t do it, so I try to keep my hands as pretty as possible. Another terrible habit is biting my callouses on public transport unconsciously and then wondering why everyone is looking at me! I also eat way too fast.
X. Xray or Ultrasound? This is a stupid question. I’ve had both, and I wouldn’t say either are fun. I get ultrasounds on my knee once a week when I go to the physio, and it actually relaxes me. Who needs meditation!?
Y. Your favorite food? Have we not already established that my favourite food is ice cream?!
Z. Zodiac sign? Aquarius. That makes me quirky and independent, or something.
Did anything on my list surprise you? Who has summer holidays coming up?
