Worldwide giveaway: Pete's Lotion

Worldwide giveaway: Pete’s Lotion

Even though I’m not living in the country anymore, I still love supporting my Aussie businesses! So when I was approached to review the recovery product, Pete’s Lotion, I was more than happy to oblige. Today I’m also giving three lucky readers the chance to win their own supply!

Pete’s Lotion is designed to alleviate muscle and joint soreness after exercise or sports. It can be applied before or after exercise. The product is completely natural, which is very important for my sensitive skin! It is made up of naturally-occurring high-grade essential oils, magnesium, herbs and mineral salts.

The product was designed by Peter O’Gorman in line with traditional Chinese medical practices. The ingredients are designed to stimulate and relax the body, while reconnecting the body’s electrical circuit (chi) where breakages have occurred.

I received the roll-on version, but they also have standard lotions available. I applied it after a workout which involved both heavy squats and plyometrics. Although I rarely feel intense muscle soreness these days, combining heavy lifting with plyos usually leaves me feeling it the next day. With that in mind, I generously rolled the lotion all over my quads, hamstrings and glutes once I got home from the gym.

Lately, I’ve also been feeling a bit tight in my lower back and shoulders, so I tested my flexibility by rolling the lotion on to those areas too. The lotion itself is super easy to apply and simply requires a bit of self-massage to absorb.

The scent of the lotion reminds me of Vick’s Vapour Rub, which is one of my all-time favourite smells (I’m a weirdo). I can’t imagine applying this lotion and then going out on the town, but it was fine for before bed.

The only downside was that it was cold to apply (or maybe it’s just because my flat is so cold!) but it warmed up in seconds. My muscles stayed nice and warm for the couple of hours before I went to bed.

When I woke up the next day, I felt no muscle soreness whatsoever. My back pain had completely disappeared. However, by the time I got to work, my shoulders started feeling tense again and I wished I had brought the lotion with me!

The company has been so kind as to give away three bottles of Pete’s Lotion. To enter the giveaway (open worldwide), tell me what exercise leaves your muscles aching the most! I will randomly select three lucky winners on Monday.

Full disclosure: I received the product for free but was not compensated for the giveaway. As always, opinions are honest and my own.
