San Pedro and a full body workout

Hi! We’re briefly back in Antigua, before we head off to Semuc Champey tomorrow. One of the places we will be staying doesn’t have electricity, let alone wifi, so please bear with me if you need to contact me. From Monday, I will be back to a normal internet connection for the remainder of my trip.

Last week, we spent five days in San Pedro La Laguna. We went out every single night (#toooldforthis), ate lots of food and swam in the lake. It was super chilled, and I haven’t felt so relaxed in a long time.

I also danced salsa for the first time in my life, and I loved it! We ended up dancing almost every day and are planning to do a lot more when we get back to Antigua.

This is the view from my friend/salsa partner’s house. Not bad, eh?

The food was delicious. There is a huge Israeli influence at the lake, so I had shakshuka almost every day for breakfast and my fair share of tasting platters.

We also had plenty of burritos, quesadillas, meats and fresh juices.

And, of course, fried plantains.

We also had two of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. Did I mention that the food is ridiculously cheap, so they only cost £4?

burgerWhile we were in San Pedro, we went to the gym once. It was a small, hotel-style gym, so I thought I’d share the workout we did if anyone wants a full body, time efficient workout they can do on the road. We were the only people in the gym so the owner let us play whatever music we wanted, which was predominantly Beyonce and Bieber. Sorry, not sorry.

Perform all of the exercises as supersets. For example, do exercise 1A immediately followed by 1B, and then rest for 60 seconds before starting your second set of exercise 1A.
