I find there is a great divide between men and women when it comes to training legs. While many men happily skip leg day in favour of yet another chest and triceps workout, women who lift tend to hammer their legs and glutes on the reg. I’ve met women who train their lower bodies four or five times a week while only training their upper body muscles once a week!
Given the obsession with lower body training that most of us have, I’m sure you will appreciate yet another workout to try. (You can find more workouts on my site here.)
I’ve been dealing with a dodgy knee and shoulder recently, meaning that I haven’t been able to back squat anything heavy. I’ve hence been finding alternative ways of hitting my lower body. Here’s a workout I did recently.

Squats!
Pittsburgh shout-out! Yay, haha! Since I’ve been dealing with a tweaky back for some time, I’ve had to alter my own lower body routine. My favorite exercise right now is a glute bridge/ hip thrust with a band around the knees. It’s only body weight, but adding that banded resistance is a surprising challenge at the end of the workout.
Definitely basic barbell squats. I feel so strong nailing them.
Back squats are definitely my fave, but added in frog pumps lately and I kinda love them!
Hey stranger!!! Love this workout. Cable squats are awesome. I also love hip lifts. Actually, I hate them… but they’re super effective.
Weighted walking lunges- I could do squats for days but those beasts are hideous
Deadlifts all the way.
Low-bar squats on a good day, deadlifts any day ☺

I have a love-hate relationship with lunges- hate the burn but love the amount of glute activation!!
I LOVE to squat but I’m going to use this workout and bring back good mornings! 🙂
