Hello? Is this thing on? If anyone was wondering, I’m still alive!
In case you hadn’t noticed, blogging has taken a backseat for me lately. Having a proper job again, upholding my freelance journalism and online training commitments, and balancing a social life is no easy feat and, sadly, doesn’t leave much time for blogging.
I thought that after I had finished writing my latest book and moved house, things would calm down a bit, but I seem to be busier than ever. I am not home very often and, when I am, I want to actually relax in my beautiful new house!
I have small tasks on my to-do list that have been there for weeks. Writing a blog keeps getting pushed further and further down – and don’t even get me started on sending out a newsletter! Apologies to all my newsletter subscribers who have been waiting with bated breath I also have very little time to check in on my blogger friends, so please accept my apologies for my increasingly infrequent comments!
On top of having hardly any time to write, I must admit that I have lost my blogging mojo. After almost six years of blogging, I feel like I’ve covered every topic under the sun! My thoughts on most topics haven’t changed, so it seems silly to update my posts simply for the sake of it.
My own training isn’t particularly exciting at the moment, as I’m still doing a mix of powerlifting (albeit at a much lower level of strength!) and hypertrophy work. Also, just to clarify as there was a bit of confusion: when I recently said that I would like to compete again (which is true!), I was referring to a strongwoman competition. I will never compete in a figure or bikini comp! I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with those that do such comps, but it’s simply not for me.
Also, given that I’ve settled back in Australia for a while, I have fewer travel-related posts to excite you with. I love travelling and already have a European holiday booked for July, but my trips will be fewer and farther between.
I’m still offering online training but I am loving doing some in-person training once again. Lifting will always remain a passion of mine and I enjoy sharing that with others, but I simply have less time to offer it for free.
I’m not planning on shutting down my blog or anything like that (after all, I just forked out for another year of website hosting!), but this is just a warning that my blogging schedule will be pretty irregular going forward. When I decide to compete again, I will most certainly document my journey, but for now I just feel like my training is not worth writing home about.
Of course, if there is any topic you would like me to cover specifically, please let me know. Thanks for reading and all of the support over the past six years!
